Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (Baton Rouge, LA)
Job Description

As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will drive 500-2000 miles a week to Commercial Outlet Stores within the region to perform and complete work orders. These tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. Strong communication skills and technical proficiency are essential, as you will often work alone and occasionally call in for assistance on specific projects.

ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, cleaning, welding, and drywall.Drive 500-2000 miles a week to visit various commercial outlets within the region.Communicate effectively with customers and store managers regarding the work being performed.Use the internal app (ADP) to log hours, document work, and communicate with the internal system.Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues such as light poles, breakers, circuits, water heaters, drains, toilets, sinks, and faucets.Conduct welding tasks such as MIG, Stick, and Spot welds for gate hinges or fencing.Handle locks, including residential/commercial pad locks or electrical locks.Ensure proper handling and transport of tools and equipment in a work van, SUV, or truck.Essential Skills5+ years of commercial electrical experience, including low voltage work and troubleshooting.5+ years of residential/commercial plumbing experience, including drain cleaning and changing fixtures.Experience with painting, including touch-ups and using hand brushes and spray guns.Proficiency in drywall hanging, finishing, and Level 5 finishing capabilities.Experience with masonry work involving brick and stone.Welding experience, including MIG, Stick, and Spot welds.Comfortable with driving 500-2000 miles a week and using a personal vehicle for work.Ability to download and use an app (ADP) for logging hours and documenting work.Additional Skills & QualificationsValid driver's license and proof of insurance.Ownership of a work van, SUV, or truck to transport tools and equipment.Hand tools needed: Angle Grinder, Tape Measure, Multimeter, Channel Locks, Spare Batteries/Charger, Circular Saw, Drywall Tools, Claw/2-3 lbs mini sledge, Crescent Wrenches, Sander, Impact Driver, Speed Square, Receptacle Tester, Needle Nose Pliers, Socket/Ratchet Set, Saws, Reciprocating Saw, Drill/Driver, Levels, Non-contact voltage tester, Lineman Pliers, Oscillating Saw, Battery Power Tools.Steel-toe boots recommended; PPE such as masks, respirators, harnesses, goggles, and gloves provided as needed.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work hours are from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Saturday work is voluntary if needed to catch up on tasks. Expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime per week. The first week includes 5 days of training. You will work both indoors and outdoors, reaching 3-8 clients a day, and communicating with supervisors and store managers. You will be responsible for logging hours, submitting work orders, and traveling extensively using your own vehicle.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
