Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Location/Division Specific Information

St. Louis, MO / Drug Substance Division - The Drug Substance Division is one of the five divisions that make up the Pharma Services Group. We specialize in both small and large molecule development and commercial drug substance services. This allows us to serve the needs of Small/Emerging, Mid-Sized, and Large Pharma sectors globally.

Work Schedule: 1st Shift Maintenance Technicians works 6:00AM – 2:30PM

Work Schedule: 2nd shift Maintenance Technicians works 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (10% Shift differential)

Work Schedule: 3rd shift Maintenance Technicians works 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (15% Shift differential)

What will you do?

Give PPI improvement ideas & suggestions to help continue the success of the plant. Associate level skilled trade including electrical, mechanical, special certified machinery. May perform installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building, mechanical equipment and utility systems using one or more trade skills. May run machinery requiring specific trade skills and certification. Maintains current knowledge of all applicable procedures and safety measures. Resolve mechanical & electrical breakdowns following strict product safety & quality standards. Associates will have the ability & initiative to lead & participate in plant problem-solving teams, ability to apply problem-solving techniques, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership & plan efficiently. Interested individuals will work in a fast paced, wide-ranging environment & be able to communicate effectively at any level.

Must have the following skills and experience: Electrical/electronic repairs and experienced with Windows based PC's. Candidate will work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Associates will operate, maintain & fix all production equipment associated within the department to prevent and maintain mechanical & electrical breakdowns following safety & quality standards. Assist others in electrical repair in a manufacturing plant. Candidate will have experience with industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems. Knowledge of & capable of performing technical skill (electrical repair, machining, welding tasks, high pressure gases).

Knowledge of electrical installation & construction, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics & pneumatics systems. Knowledge of or be willing and able to train in Maintenance Systems (SAP), lubricants & lubricating systems, & new technologies in predictive maintenance. Support continuous improvement programs through active participation in plant efficiency programs. Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs. Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.18 months (One 18-month periods) maintenance related experience, including a minimum of 500 hours of on-the-job experience.Must have experience with welding, mechanical systems, high pressure gas systems and basic PLC skills.Must have a confirmed understanding of electrical installation & construction, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics & pneumatics systems.Able to move up to 50 lbs.Perform area housekeeping duties.Background in industrial systems.Work scheduled shift, weekends and holidays as required.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.Other Job Requirements:Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and balanced workplace environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be aware of potential exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and high noise areas.
