BUILDING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a Building Management Specialist for the Annapolis, MD NAVAL ACADEMY. Responsibilities You will monitor facilities budget for contracted work, utility usage, or rental space payments to inform supervisor on remaining funds. You will analyze space and service requirements in relation to overall facility operating plans and applicable agreements established to maximize sustainability of the command mission. You will prepare documents (e.g., briefs, project reports, information papers, or other documentation) to provide status, tracking, and general information associated with active and future projects. You will use data analysis to resolve facility related issues. You will coordinate alteration and renovation projects for government buildings that may be historic. You will be a government purchase card holder managing a multimillion-dollar budget. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Develops both short and long-range programs for preventive maintenance and repairs; 2) Validate space utilization, correct building deficiencies; 3) Manage a safety program to include safety inspections, safety hazards, and accident prevention; 4) Inspects projects to evaluate proficiency and products of contractors; 5) Manages the Access Control System (ACS) and Credential Management System (CMS) for Common Access Card (CAC) and Facility Access Cards (FAC) which grant access to doors. FOR GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:1) Providing solutions to building management operations, maintenance, or repair issues; 2) Assisting with planning and scheduling recurring maintenance for buildings and building equipment; 3) Writing statements of work specifications related to building operations and management; and 4) Utilizing Microsoft software for word processing and data management in support of building operations and management. OR Successful completion of 02 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., if related to this position being filled. OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. FOR GS-07: Successful completion of 01 full year of graduate level education.
