Summary DCSA is seeking a Space and Project Management Specialist. The incumbent coordinates the preparation of space layouts, conducts on-site space utilization surveys, and coordinates with a variety customers and partners to deliver mission-ready facility spaces. Responsibilities As a BUILDING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: Develops procedures, techniques and methods to resolve space problems in government leased and owned facilities Conducts on-site space utilization surveys and implements actions, as required, to ensure the full and efficient use of DCSA's assigned space Reviews agency administrative space requirements, DD Forms 1450 and 1450-1, against established DoD standards and recommends changes in space allocations Coordinates the preparation of space layouts in accordance with approved space requirements and government regulations and guidelines Works with DCSA Components, GSA, Architect/Engineering firms, construction contractors, and others to develop initial tenant alterations and organizational relocations Monitors and guides projects for construction of special and classified facilities Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened from the Office of Personnel Management's (OPMs) basic qualifications requirements. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience executing plans of relevant space/facility projects for a multi-faceted, distributed organization. Experience developing long term plans regarding facility space. Experience communicating with customers and external agencies. Experience executing space planning functions including real property, real estate, furniture acquisition, and work area standards. Experience working with a construction process, land acquisition process, or prospectus level work. Design: Knowledge of conceptualizing, developing, producing, understanding, and using plans, models, blueprints, and maps, including the use of tools and instruments to produce precision technical drawings, working prototypes, components, or systems. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Self Management: Sets well defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
