Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the overall maintenance and facilities strategy, aligning with the organization’s goals.Provide leadership to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s vision, operational objectives, and efficiency goals.Serve as the subject matter expert in facility engineering, troubleshooting complex issues and providing technical guidance to the team.Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety, building management systems, and external areas such as roof repairs, maintenance, and landscaping.Ensure that all facilities and equipment are operating efficiently, are properly maintained, and remain compliant with industry standards, safety codes, and regulations.Manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.Coordinate and supervise facility maintenance activities, including repairs, refurbishments, capital projects, and infrastructure systems such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including OSHA and local regulations.Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, including emergency response plans and incident command systems.Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff, tenants, and visitors.Lead efforts to integrate sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental best practices into facility operations.Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, negotiating contracts and service level agreements.Conduct performance analysis and audits to identify opportunities for system improvements, cost savings, energy efficiency, and operational effectiveness.Monitor KPIs related to energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and operational costs to optimize facility performance.Lead training and development programs for staff to improve technical skills and maintain certifications.Prepare and present regular reports on facilities operations, maintenance activities, budget status, and performance metrics to senior management.Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and service contracts, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.Oversee the fleet’s maintenance, ensuring all vehicles are inspected, repaired, and ready for use, especially for events or urgent needs. Oversee the procurement process for supplies, tools, equipment, and other materials necessary for maintaining facilities and vehicles.Negotiate contracts with external vendors, ensuring the company receives the best services and pricing for facilities maintenance, equipment, and vehicle management.Work Experience
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in operations and maintenance management, preferably in a mid-to-large organization.Proven experience in managing the maintenance of building systems, grounds, landscaping, and fleet operations.Strong understanding of facility operations, engineering, financial analysis, and logistics.Knowledge of OSHA laws, local building codes, and safety regulations, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.Experience managing capital improvement projects and preventive maintenance programs.Skilled in negotiating contracts, vendor management, and managing budgets effectively.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-standard software.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Strong commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement.Valid Illinois Drivers’ License required.Knowledge of USDOT and FMSCA requirements is helpful.Benefits
Pay & Benefits | What You’ll Receive
