High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
Valid Driver’s License Five (5) years’ experience in maintenance and repair of commercial buildings. Two (2) years in one of the major disciplines of the building trades. Must be physically able to climb stairs, climb a ladder, reach overhead, work from heights, bend at the waist, kneel and crouch, be able to work near loud noises and electrical equipment, tight spaces, and on rooftop. Prolonged periods of time walking, standing, bending, climbing and exerting up to 30 pounds of force frequently. The ability to lift 40 pounds for a short period of time.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
This position will be filled at the annual salary of $48,800.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades and mechanical repair work. Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work. Knowledge and operation of computer applications i.e. Windows 10, Microsoft Outlook. Skilled in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work. Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. Ability to install, maintain and repair mechanical equipment. Ability to take accurate measurements. Integrity, communication, respect, accountability, teamwork. Operate a computer to create and respond to work orders, conduct research to order parts and or services, enter time worked and leave requests. Maintain a professional appearance, build and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, students and supervisors. Ability to read blueprints, work in a safe manner and maintain technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications when necessary. Ability to operate equipment to include: front end loader/backhoe and telehandler forklift.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Perform skilled mechanical repairs on building equipment.
Inspect equipment, analyze trouble and plan sequence of repair operations.
Investigate complaints and equipment malfunctions.
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
Analyze performance of equipment.
Performs maintenance on air conditioning systems.
Assist with maintenance of hardware, doors, windows, restroom fixtures, utility room equipment, and commercial garage doors.
Plumbing duties to include but not limited to unclogging drains, repair flush valves, repairs or replacement of commodes, sinks, urinals, shower fixtures, water lines, drain lines, faucets, drinking fountains and ice machines.
Electrical duties to include but not limited to repair or replacement of lighting fixtures and exhaust fans, troubleshoot electrical issues, attend to breakers, replace receptacles and switches.
Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting, security components, fire protection, boilers, water heaters and HVAC systems.
Assist with outside grounds to include mowing, leaf removal, weed remediation and general upkeep of grounds.
Perform minor carpentry repairs.
Perform fire extinguisher and AED inspections.
Submits requests for the purchase of materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities.
Completes and manages detailed maintenance records for all equipment and buildings.
Respond to a facility emergency if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
