DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES


DESCRIPTION: 

This position is responsible for providing the tenants of Suncor Energy Centre with a high level of customer service in the completion of tenant requests and maintaining the daily operations of property, parkade and common areas (e.g.: inspection of all mechanical and electrical systems, chemical water analysis, HVAC).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Servicing tenant requests as they are received and dispatched by 310-SERV.

Responsible for mechanical rounds and the water treatment program.

Assisting the other Building Operators and Maintenance staff with their tasks on a daily basis.

Completing other tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor, Operations and/or Manager, Operations.

Monitoring computer/building automation systems and alarms, commanding, and scheduling equipment as requested.

Shift work is required, including weekends and holidays.

On-call shift rotation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS


SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS: 

A large portion of time in this position will be spent servicing tenant requests. This daily interaction with customers demands an individual with a keen service orientation as exemplified by the consistent demonstration of empathy and courtesy in all customer interactions.  Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.  Brookfield’s level of service further requires the communication of a sincere desire to contribute to customer satisfaction by taking personal responsibility to resolve their concerns.

The successful candidate must be a positive team player who works collaboratively with colleagues in all departments, ensuring strict adherence to safety legislation as well as company policies and processes.

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Must have a solid understanding of the maintenance and operational routines of large mechanical equipment.

Must have a thorough understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers and all air-handling equipment.

Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Must have extensive experience with one of the major Direct Digital Control (DDC) control systems, preferably the JCI Automation System.

First-hand knowledge of plumbing and electrical installations and repair is an asset.

Embody and support Brookfield Properties’ Safety, Health and Environment Policy.

Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce risk to the workplace.

Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely.

Take action to stop work if it cannot be executed safely or if conditions or behaviours are unsafe.

Immediately report SH&E incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and/or at-risk behaviours to their supervisor; then diligently work to correct the problem.

Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures.

Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.

EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Fourth Class Power Engineering.

A trade background would be an asset.
