Building Products Controller

The Building Products Controller will be responsible for the preparation and overall integrity of the NVRBP financial statements and related management reports. This position will provide financial guidance and direction to senior leadership, lead financial justifications for new plants and capital, and lead the Building Products Accounting Team.  The Building Products Controller will also ensure the accurate and efficient flow of information between the Accounting Department, Building Products senior management, and NVR executive leadership.  This role is located in Frederick, MD and will also require regular on-site time working directly with the VP of Manufacturing, at our Thurmont, MD plant.     

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the internal controls and integrity of the NVRBP financial statements.  Manage a timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.  Provide guidance, recommendations, and relevant reporting to the Manufacturing senior leadership in the management of financial aspects of their business. Develop plans, forecasts, and reports outlining current/full year results and financial and strategic objectives. Manage the reconciliation of plant physical inventories. Ensure sound financial justification for all plant capital expenditures and acquisition of new Manufacturing plants or plant expansions. Present financial information to executive leadership. Partner with Architectural Services and Procurement to manage, review and audit internal pricing systems and information.     Manage and develop the Building Products Accounting team in order to maximize contributions to the business and provide a meaningful employee experience. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.  Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.  10+ years of business experience in planning, financial analysis, or audit, with experience supporting manufacturing environments preferred. "Big Four" experience preferred. Exceptional problem analysis, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities.  Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting, and meeting deadlines.     Focus on driving improvements within the organization and ability to persuade and influence others.   Strong communicator, who collaborates and works well in a team environment.     Ability to coach and develop others to achieve goals and grow in the organization.     Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.   Ability to travel to NVR's manufacturing sites.

This position pays $150,000 to $175,000 per year.  This position has the opportunity for bonus.
