Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs routine custodial duties and special cleaning projects.Duties include dusting, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, disposing of trash, sweeping, etc.May dispose of hazardous waste. Serves as liaison between Building Service Worker staff and other staff.Works closely and communicates with building occupants to ensure that custodial work does not disrupt operations.Provides quality customer service and promotes a positive working relationship between Building Service Worker staff and customers.Works to address and meet the needs of all Emory Student Center's guests and customers.In the absence of the supervisor, serves as shift leader for a group of Building Service Workers.Interacts with customers, resolves issues, and handles emergency situations.Ensures prescribed levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance are maintained in assigned facilities.Conducts daily inspections of work sites, storage areas and equipment to ensure consistent quality standards are met.May drive departmental vehicles and be responsible for their daily inspection, maintenance, and safe operation.Knows and adheres to federal and state safety regulations.Trains staff and provides ongoing feedback.Responsible for ballroom setups, meeting room setups, and audio/visual support.Sets up for events by arranging chairs, tables, podiums or other furnishings based on a design layout.Regularly reviews the meeting services operations report.Communicates event and facility-related information to various center staff.May include setting up additional equipment from staging department or rental companies, and taking inventory in Student Center facilities.Maintains and monitors the temperature in ballrooms and meeting rooms.Monitors, organizes, and maintains the Student Center's loading docks for use by building tenants.Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent.Three years of custodial, facilities or operations experience work experience which includes experience in a lead or supervisory role.May require a valid Georgia driver's license, an insurable driving record and/or the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

This is a second-shift position with working hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
