We are offering the significant role as “Building Services Project Engineer” in the “Construction & Commissioning” function to participate in this energy transition for Central Europe. The Building Services Project Engineer shall be responsible for the management of the Building Services scope in our AC & HVDC projects.

The position holder reports to the Regional Construction & Commissioning Leader.

Mission description

In particular, the mission consists to:

Tender Phase (ITO)Understanding the customers’ requirements and the technical specifications to be worked toPrepare tender documents related to Building Services and review offers together with SourcingCoordinate costing & scheduling of Building Services scope and provide the input to the Tender Civil EngineerLead the definition of contracting strategy ( sub-con / partner) and its development and application throughout ITO phases with support from EHS, Quality, Planning & SourcingPreparing technical submissionsExecution Phase (OTR)Manage external designers and design & build contractors in the execution of the design for the Building ServicesCo-ordinate flow of information from GE to CW designersResponsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Building ServicesCoordinate the Building Services scope with other project members, like Civil WorksManage the Customer approval process and ensure that the Customers comments are answered in a comprehensive and timely manner.Support the GE construction team in the delivery of the project, attending site as required to resolve technical issues, and inspect quality.Manage the close out of Building Services documentation and ensure it is returned to the client within the agreed timescale

Candidate requirements

Skills / Qualifications

An appropriate qualification in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of work experience would be advantageous but equivalent experience in Building Services Engineering is also feasible.

Have appropriate health and safety experience, trainings and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature to be able to identify and stop unsafe works.

Experience

Previous experience of undertaking the role of Building Services Project Engineer on a large Substation Project would be an advantage but is not essential.

Have previous experience of key elements of the project including, but not limited to the following:

HVAC systemFire fighting and fire protection systemsLighting

Knowledge/ Other

Be knowledgeable on the key applicable standards and specifications associated with the Building Services applicable for countries in the regionStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to be proactive and recommend and approve corrective actions if requiredWill be required to travel frequently across the region to various project sites with presence on site during execution phaseAbility to work remotely but integrate with the GE’s wider teamAbility to communicate effectively and to accurately and concisely report both verbally and in writing in English and German
