We are seeking an experienced Special Inspector to join our team for various projects throughout North Carolina. This role is integral in ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and we are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong communication and documentation skills.\n

Responsibilities:\n\nAccurately perform inspections on soil, concrete, steel, masonry, deep foundations, exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS), and fireproofing for various industrial, commercial, residential or municipality projects in accordance with applicable standards.\nRead and interpret design drawings and construction specifications.\nObserve work procedures and verify compliance with job specifications.\nCreate accurate and detailed inspection reports.\nInteract and communicate with general contractors, site supervisors, architects, structural engineers, and client representatives.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nMinimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.\n3+ years of experience performing testing and inspections.\nWorking knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.\nProficient in the use of iPads, Microsoft Office, email, and Dropbox.\nAbility to work independently, use own judgment, and make decisions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nMust have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, raise hands above head, sit, climb and balance, and work in confined spaces and heights.\nMust be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 90 pounds on occasion.\nMust be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 8 hours on a normal day and up to 12 hours on occasion. A valid driver's license and ability to drive \nAbility to obtain and\/or maintain ACI, ICC, and NCDOT certifications \nAbility to pass a post-offer fit for duty test \n\n

Must have one or more of the following certifications: \n\nACI \/ NCDOT Concrete Field Technician Level 1\nNCDOT Certifications\nICC Soils\nICC Reinforced Concrete\nICC Masonry\nICC Structural Steel and Bolting\nICC Structural Welding\nICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing\n\n
