What this job involves - We are seeking a Building Technician specializing in fire protection systems and plumbing to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing fire protection, plumbing systems and maintenance in commercial buildings to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal functionality.

What is your day to day?

Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire suppression equipmentConduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measuresRespond to emergency calls and resolve fire protection and plumbing issues promptlyInstall and upgrade fire protection and plumbing systems as neededEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety codes and regulationsMaintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs performerCollaborate with other building maintenance teams to address cross-functional issuesCompletes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, client services requests, special cleaning, and general maintenance as assigned.Assists other operational staff members in repair and maintenance of building equipment and compliance with all required maintenance and safety audits.Uses a computerized maintenance e management work order system (CMMS) to open and close work orders.Maintains tools and orders supplies as required for various equipment repairs.Keeps logs, documents equipment repairs, closes work orders, tracks time accurately in reports and provides timely and constant communication with the Operations Manager and Lead Engineer.Complies with policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Desired experience and technical skills -

Required

High school diploma or equivalentSome skills in electrical and mechanical aptitude a mustTeam player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports and have excellent customer service skills.Visually inspect buildingsFamiliarity with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)

Preferred

Worked in a BioPharma or Pharmaceutical environmentExperience in plumbing with 60+ PSI water pressureFire Protection experience in a commercial environmentUnderstanding of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, plumbing codes, and relevant regulations

Work Environment

Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementationAbility to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly.Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.Building inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

1.00 – 1.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
