As the Bunkhouse Manager, you will be a vital member at one of our Alaskan processing facilities that is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and orderly living quarters for seasonal employees at their designated facility. In this role as the Bunkhouse Manager works closely with the Human Resources and Housekeeping department to ensure a positive housing experience in the Silver Bay Seafoods’ bunkhouses for a staff ranging from 450-600 employees. This role is also responsible for maintaining detailed records on all employee housing including room assignments, key distribution, sanitation records and on-site laundry services.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
Preparation and arrangement of all employees housing. Supervise distribution and inventory of blankets and linens issued to employees. Distribution and inventory of keys for bunkhouse facility. Maintain a daily detailed log of employee housing assignments. Create and maintain a sanitation schedule for all bunkhouse facilities including employee rooms, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor communal areas. Maintain or supervise a daily log of all sanitation procedures. Create and maintain a schedule for on-site company provided laundry services. Provide transportation for Silver Bay Seafoods employees upon request from management. Ability to interact effectively with people from a wide variety of cultures, race and religions while maintaining safe and clean housing for all Silver Bay Seafoods employees. Knowledge of all safety and evacuation procedures relative to designated facility. Monitor bunkhouse cameras and security of the facility. Other duties as assigned to ensure the facility and organization is fully supported and successful.Competencies

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required. 3+ years’ experience supervising a staff of 30+ employees. Relevant workplace experience may be a substitute for the above requirements. Previous experience in seafood industry or manufacturing not required but preferred.Work Environment and Schedule
The bunkhouse work environment is a shared living and working space, located in remote or rural areas. The environment is characterized by long hours, physical labor, and a communal atmosphere. Employees will work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.
Physical Demands
As the Bunkhouse Manager works in remote locations, requiring physical stamina and the ability to handle harsh weather conditions. The job may involve lifting and carrying heavy items, such as supplies or equipment. Additionally, the manager may need to be physically active in tasks like cleaning, maintenance, and outdoor chores. While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
