Senior Business Analyst

Job Description:

The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role as a project/product leader for data driven technology projects by leading scope planning sessions, conducting analysis, defining requirements, collaborating with project team members on functional and technical specifications, and assisting with testing, implementation, and rollout. The primary area of focus will be reporting, publishing, and data delivery initiatives for a wide range of investment types including Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Separate Accounts. The Senior Business Analysis will have deep domain expertise in Investment Accounting, Security Master, Product Master, and Holdings data and Investment management applications. The Senior Business Analyst must demonstrate effective communication, technical aptitude and proficiency, problem solving & decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

Lead Holdings roadmap and evolution by partnering with Information Technology and Business teams across the firm.Function as Product Owner for Accounting system integrations and updates.Manage business partner demand and help resolve competing priorities.Manage complex projects from initiation, planning and design through implementation.Liaise between the business, technology, and vendors throughout project/product cycle.Lead requirements and design discussions as subject matter expert, producing business requirements and other key artifacts.Develop and maintain detailed requirements with considerations for scope, success factors/measures, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.Collaborate with functional areas of project teams including Project Management, Product Management, Development, Data Integration, Business Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance, Data Suppliers, and User ExperienceProvide input into the creation of detailed project plans, work assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned projects.Partner with stakeholders to build consensus and execute on projects.Communicate status with stakeholders, business partners and team.Drive the planning, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and conversions. Ensure system solutions meet user requirements.Analyze business workflows to optimize efficiencies and resolve issues.Troubleshoot issues, document, and implement resolutions.Contribute to the development of the technology strategy and target operating model.Participate in and drive agile design and development methodologies.Produce program, project, and service level status reports.Partner with 3rd Party Software Vendors and Data Vendors as needed.Develop, implement, and enforce best practices and operating standards.Participate in test-plan preparation, reviews & execution.Document supporting project deliverables including process and training guides.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.10+ years working experience in the Investment Industry with 5+ years relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead development life cycle, complex projects or client engagements and driving outcomesDeep Understanding of Investment Accounting, Holdings, Security Master, Fund Attributes and Investment management applications functionality and lineageExperience in a combined business, operations and technology environment within the Financial Services industry, or relevant systems and data integration experience.Strong understanding of Mutual Funds, ETFs, and Institutional funds across a range of data domains including performance, holdings, accounting, pricing, and analytics.Experience analyzing and implementing Business Controls.Compliance and Regulatory experience is preferred.Proven track record of successfully delivering and executing on projects through all aspects of data operations, business requirements analysis, definition, communication, assessment, and validation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to all levels of the organization.Experience with third party vendors and their integration with business applications.Experience working with globally distributed project teams.Solid understanding of waterfall (SDLC) and agile methods, JIRA, and Confluence experience a plus.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret business and functional requirements.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skillsStrong Microsoft Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, SQL skills

Charles River Development

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $177,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
