Position Description

 

managing a unit to analyze and develop the missing portions of the in-house-developed Case Management System (MiCS), which will replace legacy AS400 systems. The position will lead a unit of subject matter experts, third-party consultants, and staff developers. This project is focused on preparing the packaging of the newly developed application to roll out to 210+ courts across the State of Michigan. There is a heavy focus in assuring that the application is complete to meet the requirements of the courts which are already using your legacy systems. The application should be built to rollout as efficiently as possible. Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Creating, managing, budgeting for and coordinating a unit comprised of Judicial Information Services staff and third party contractors with the following deliverables: o Gap Analysis – what is missing for a complete rollout to a JIS court. o Build task list and schedule for completion of missing components. o Determine viability of limited system configuration for court administrators o Determine rollout model for most efficient phasing

• Coordination with four other planning units (Operational Planning, Data Migration, Rollout Planning, Infrastructure Planning)

• Managing issues throughout the project

• Technology project management. Must have a working knowledge in the following areas: o Applications lifecycle o Application rollout planning o Project Management

• Lead unit through the creation of the deliverables.

• Facilitate required status and other meetings with executive level committees, client management, project teams and staff

• Change/Issue/Risk Management, Project budget tracking/reporting

• Develop and ensure consistent documentation deliverables to client

 

Skills Required

• BA or BS is preferred

• 10+ years’ experience in the management field – Consulting experience a plus

• Strong background in Project\Program Management with both Fortune 100 companies and small/mid-sized companies with a software development focus.

• Experience with upgrading/rolling out of enterprise-wide, client-facing software technology • Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Excellent interpersonal, self-management, unit management and communication skills

• Strong team building skills

• PMP certification a plus
