Business Analyst The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Business Analyst. Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College Drive Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001 United States Division Office of Admissions Position Type Staff Employment Status Full Time Grant Funded No Pay Grade E10 Posting Close Date 11/15/2024 Job Summary: The Business Analyst is responsible for admissions data management within the CRM and SIS; maintaining data within new and existing systems. The position also works with system integration and with resolving daily issues that arise in technology. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: + Manage Peoplesoft processes and work with developers to update and correct program code. Develop Peoplesoft queries for reporting requests. + Perform PUM and Peopletools testing as needed. Ensure operational status of all software after updates are performed. + Assess undergraduate admission applications and application updates for the university, including, but not limited to, freshman and transfer applications for Hattiesburg, Gulf Park, Online, Gulf Coast Research Laboratory and Southern Regional Public Safety Institute (SRPSI.) + Manage CRM and SIS data by performing daily cleanup, building queries, and creating reports. Ensure accurate data for export to SIS and other data management duties. + Reconcile and process completion documents for applications, including transcripts, test scores, permanent resident cards, and other necessary documents. Perform operations duties as needed. + Troubleshoot application issues and assist prospective students with completing application online. Provide CRM oversight and support to new and existing staff when needed. + Import application files from all sources (Royall, CommonApp, etc.) into CRM as needed. Perform data imports into CRM, including, but not limited to, student records and test scores from PeopleSoft, leads lists from recruitment events, prospective student data obtained through name buys and purchased lists as needed. + Compiles, updates, and maintains proper documentation related to Undergraduate Admissions processes related to CRM/SIS. + Assess new software and system updates to determine best solutions for process needs. Create and apply needed coding changes to meet business needs. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, or other related field, from an accredited college or university. Four years related experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed. Preferred Qualifications: 4 years of related experience in information technology or closely related field. 2 years of related experience managing a CRM Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA): + Knowledge of PeopleSoft, customer relation systems, and other enrollment management technology. + Proficient oral/written communication skills. In addition to responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. + Knowledge of SQL tables, views & joins programming concepts and functional perspectives as it relates to system support. + Ability to think critically to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. + Ability to take strong initiative toward accomplishing results; exercise judgment; work independently and in a team environment; analyze, plan, organize, and deliver projects on schedule. + Knowledge of SQL tables, views & joins programming concepts and functional perspectives as it relates to system support. + Ability to assist operational staff in the use of supported software. + Ability to think critically to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
