Complete Description:
The Business Analyst will perform a wide range of budgetary, financial and non-financial duties are associated with the day-to-day operations and high priority projects of the IT Strategic Investment Services (SIS) team. This position plays a key role in tracking and monitoring the formulation, execution, and analysis of the agency’s budget and spending via various systems, spreadsheets, reports and dashboards. It handles a large volume of financial data and performs various duties such as detailed financial analysis, ad hoc reports, data validation, and user acceptance testing. Strong accounting and compliance backgrounds with advanced Excel and analytical skills are required to explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive process and policy improvements. The main duties are as follows:
-Perform strategic business analysis to evaluate (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness of IT investments in meeting established goals and objectives;
-Develop life cycle cost analyses of projects performing cost benefit or evaluation of IT investments;
-Identify financial status and trends by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, monitor variances, and provide recommendations to management for improvement
-Prepare reports, projections and presentations based on analysis findings
-Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
-Coordinate with other members of the finance and budget team to review financial information and forecasts
-Evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation
This position will also perform other duties as assigned and has a strong possibility of being extended beyond the current Period of Performance.
