Complete Description:
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand the Client’s business requirements and business process flows and then translate them into comprehensive, accurate and quality software requirements/specifications
Collect and analyze the project’s business requirements and transfer that knowledge to the Systems Development team
Evaluate data collected through Interviews, business process analysis, surveys and or JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions
Provide suggestions to the Application Development team during the development stage of the software to ensure the Client’s business needs are met
Prepare accurate and detailed Requirements documents, User interface guides, and functional Specification documents
Communicate effectively with DHS Business Clients and IT staff on functional requirements like Business Rules, Screen layouts, data mapping analysis, system interfaces and GUI designs
Document the acquired results of the analysis and workflows as well as obtain sign-off from the appropriate client
Translate the Business Requirements into System Specifications, documenting data/table requirements, screen layouts, report format and contents, system functional capabilities, etc.
Escalate any Project related issues or potential impediments to a Project’s schedule or deliverable
Develop, document and execute test cases and scripts and coordinate UAT Testing with the Business Users
Coordinate with the Business and IT teams who are involved in the Testing process and are responsible for validating test results and or follow up on any outstanding testing issues
Document and manage any Change Requests related to the working Project
Assist the PMO office in the introduction of any new software or technology tools, Templates, Policies, Procedures, and or best practices
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and keeping abreast of state of the art practices
Performs any other duties as assigned by Management
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with developing systems via a structured SDLC methodology
Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing) for conducting interviews, running JAD Facilitation sessions, and conducting team meetings
Experienced writing Test Scripts, conducting Test runs and coordinating UAT testing with Business Users
Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio
Ability to document and analyze complex business processes and propose redesigns or areas for improvement
Familiar with working in a PMO office and their Tools, templates, best practices
Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information
Any Report Writing capability with Web Focus, SQL Scripts would be a plus
Any familiarity with ASP.Net SQL Server, Java Script, etc would be a plus as well as any exposure to Visual Studio 2010

EDUCATION
MBA degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years Business Experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
