Short Description:
This BA position is for approximately 8 months, ending on 6/30/2015. The Business Analyst is part of a team responsible for the documentation and testing of custom web applications currently under modernization and consolidation.
Complete Description:
The primary function of this position will be to document, outline, and flow the existing business practices for the agency's existing custom applications, which are currently undergoing a major modernization and consolidation initiative. These applications cover a number of problem domains including accounting, payment processing, auditing, work-item tracking and routing, reporting, document storage, and asset management..
The individual will develop the necessary business process and technical/functional specification requirements for use by application development staff. This individual will work as part of a team of business analysts reporting to the agency's Project Manager.
In addition, this individual will work to develop user test scripts, coordinate system testing, work with Agency Training staff to develop training or update reference manuals. This individual will work closely with technical staff and other business analysts to obtain an understanding of the current agency business practices. They will work independently in preparing necessary documentation, but will report to and receive additional work assignments from a PM or senior BA regularly.
A qualified candidate must have:
• At least 7 years of education and experience in business analysis.
• Knowledge of formal requirement gathering methodologies.
• Experience in developing Business Requirements.
• Experience in developing Functional Requirements.
• Experience in developing QoS requirements.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• IIBA certification
While not required, experience with formal requirements expression methods such as UML diagramming, Use-Cases, User Stories, and/or Traceability Matrices is highly desired.
The minimum expected deliverables for this contract are all necessary Requirements documents and test scripts. If contract hours remain at the conclusion of this endeavor, additional business analysis assignments will be evaluated and documented.
Work Details
• Resource will work 37.5 hours per week; Work hours are 8:30 – 5:00, Monday – Friday (lunch is 12:00 – 1:00).
• In addition to the standard PATCH check required (and provided by the selected candidate's vendor), the selected candidate will also have to pass an additional background check which will be performed by the agency at agency's expense.
• Agency follows a “business casual” dress code.
