Business Analyst
This role will be based in London, UK and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.
The Hartford IT department seeks an experienced and driven Business Analyst to join its London-based team with the objective of helping to roll out technical solutions (projects and enhancements) that will support our business within the international segment of Hartford Global Specialty.
The role will involve significant exposure to the business community (Operations, Underwriting, Claims), to compare existing and future state processes, produce a gap analysis of required functionality with a short-term and long-term technical solution design to address any functionality shortfall. You will liaise with peers within the Hartford Global Specialty IT department across a variety of projects and are expected to be hands-on when needed during the delivery of project activities to ensure milestones are achieved.
The role will focus on supporting the Scrum Master / Project Manager with the technical analysis, delivery and quality of deliverables throughout the IT systems development lifecycle and driving projects toward realizing intended benefits aligned to the needs of the business.

Job Responsibilities & Competence
Serve as the liaison between various business units and the IT Department in determining business requirements / user stories and acceptance criteria for initiatives with a high degree of complexity
Analyse requirements feasibility to determine whether the requirement is viable both technically & operationally
Analyse the business needs by examining the current processes, defining new processes, identifying problems and offering solutions
Document & translate business requirements into systems specification documentation including use cases, wireframes, workflow diagrams, functional and non-functional system requirements
Assist stakeholders with varying points of view and priorities to understand the bigger picture.
Presentation of solutions to all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with developers to determine functionality options and associated level of effort and to communicate any trade-offs between usability and cost to the business units
Work with stakeholders across the business, subject matter experts and third party entities, reconciling conflicts and presenting information in a manner the business units can review and approve
Work alongside the Scrum Master / Project Manager to drive and manage testing
Procedures

Qualifications and Capabilities
Technical Skills
Experience of Policy Admin systems (Genius, Subscribe), Exposure and Aggregation Management Tools, and Claims Management Systems (DOCOsoft), their processes and workflows
Understanding of data modelling techniques, data structures, and data warehouses
Capability to conduct analysis of data and document data flows and ETL transformations and implementation of business logic.
Proficient in gathering data from and analysing SQL databases.
Knowledgeable of various project management methodologies, e.g. Waterfall, Agile.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, MS Project, SQL

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (not essential)
Certification in Business Analysis best practices (a plus), e.g.
BCS (ISEB) – Certified Business Analyst
CBAP – Certified Business Analysis Professional
CCBA – Certification of Competency in Business Analysis
Experience
Relevant experience preferably in the Insurance industry
Relevant years of experience in a Business Analyst role
