The BA role is responsible for collaborating with the business units establishing business requirements that enable the technical team to configure applications solutions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our IT team. This pivotal role involves driving the analysis necessary to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications used by our company and its business partners. You will play a crucial role in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to ensure alignment with our strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include documenting requirements, testing system functionality, defining scope and objectives, and designing systems that bolster essential business processes. As a key liaison between IT and various business departments, you will facilitate collaboration and innovation. 

 

This position is a hybrid role with expectations to be in-office at our Chicago, IL location at least four days a week. This is not a remote role.

 

Key functions include but are not limited to:

Review and analyze project requests to determine their impact on existing systems.Translate business requirements into detailed specifications for IT development staff and external providers.Analyze and document current workflows, identify opportunities to meet project objectives, and recommend future approaches.Utilize user definitions, use cases, and workflow diagrams to illustrate business problems.Lead meetings, such as business requirements reviews and testing strategy reviews.Deliver structured presentations tailored to various levels of management, ensuring clear communication and alignment with their specific needs and expectations.Perform system and user testing as required; analyze and validate testing results.Provide support and guidance to other IT personnel in business requirements documentation and system/user testing.Act as a reference and provide support to application users regarding questions arising from application/functionality adoption and use. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.At least two years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical IT role, focusing on requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, and system implementation.Experience in the insurance or finance industry is preferred but not required.Familiarity or experience with Agile/Scrum Framework is a plus.Familiarity with business rules management systems, particularly FICO Blaze Advisor, is a plus.Experience with SQL is a plus.Experience in process reengineering, flow charting, and block diagramming, with a good understanding of the desktop environment, user interface design, and web architecture.Ability to lead diverse groups of people towards solutions.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business users and software developers.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Base Salary Range: $ 52,000.00 - $105,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
