UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world, partnering with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service. UW-IT collaborates with University partners to advance teaching, learning, innovation, and discovery at the UW. Enterprise Document Management (EDM), a team within UW-IT’s Data & Applications division, provides and supports the Document Management and eSignatures services to the global UW community. We collaborate with partners in most domains of the University including academic, business, research, and IT groups and our services are used by students, faculty, staff, and researchers across the University of Washington. These services support enterprise business process modernization and automation, records retention for electronic records, and risk management. EDM is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) with excellent communication skills to lead the functional analysis and discovery for document management implementation projects. The BA will ensure that the service successfully delivers customer solutions by gathering and organizing requirements, managing functional scope, and effectively mapping business needs to the solution at hand. The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding compliance demands and the technical solutions well enough to accurately analyze customer requests, evaluate those requests for fit with technical capabilities, and advocate for change as needed. The Business Analyst works closely with EDM team members as well as partner teams within UW-IT and across UW in providing this critical service. **REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Science, Computer Science, or related field or experience. + Minimum of four years of experience performing progressively more complex business analysis activities such as scope definition, requirements gathering/discovery, business process re-engineering, requirements management, system configuration, contributing to build cycles, and training. + A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a strong customer-first approach. + Ability to represent business stakeholders effectively and translate between business and technical requirements. + Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities. + Demonstrated collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels and across different organizations. + Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. + Ability to critically think to solve difficult problems with complex solutions and widespread impact. + Experience facilitating meetings, constructively addressing input and criticism, and resolving conflicts. + Ability to present complex technical material to non-technical audiences in an approachable way. + Comfortable working with diverse teams, and willingness to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. **DESIRED:** + Experience as a functional leader or key contributor in complex, enterprise-wide collaborative technical projects that have required significant business process change. + Experience as a business analyst and key contributor in both project and operational support environments. + Knowledge of document management, records management, and/or information management concepts and principles. + Experience working with both internal and contract resources to solve business problems and implement solutions. + Experience preparing for and managing organizational change. + Ability to navigate in a complex technology environment. + Familiarity with DocFinity, DocuSign, or similar EDM and eSignature applications. + Familiarity with SharePoint, including site customization and document library management. + Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate for workflow creation and process automation. + Certification or experience in organizational change management (Prosci, ACMP, or similar) is highly desirable. + Experience in Higher Education, preferably at a major research university. + Familiarity with Agile methodologies. + High level understanding of web applications, web services, and databases. **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** Hybrid, open office environmentThis is an essential position and is required to report to work remotely if UW suspends operations. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
