**Immediate hiring - Business Analyst @NYC, NY** **Role: Business Analyst - Markets Resolution & Recovery Planning Team (1LoD)** **Location: NYC, NY (hybrid, 3 days onsite)** **Position type: 12 Months potential to covert/extend** **Notes:** + This is a first-line team within the markets business that sits on the trading floor. It is an internal risk management function within trading, handling the firm's overall regulatory operations related to resolutions and recovery planning. + This team is tasked with executing the market’s roles and responsibilities as part of the overall firm-wide process. + This person will be responsible for profit and loss variance analysis (e.g., how much money client would lose if they went bankrupt). + As part of this process, they have a system that calculates this number, and they perform a lot of data checks to ensure the system is accurate. + The candidate needs to understand how the trading business works, as the numbers being reviewed are direct outputs of these systems. + The manager is aware that there is not a deep pool of candidates with experience in resolutions and recovery planning, as most people on the team come from a fixed income product control background. + Open to candidates with experience in resolution & recovery planning OR product control within fixed income. + Good verbal communication skills, particularly when working with senior stakeholders, are required. + Must have strong product knowledge, specifically in fixed income product control, with a minimum of 5 years of experience. + The role involves analysis and investigation. + Not looking for someone with a purely operations background. **Job description:** The Risk and Control team directly supports Markets globally. Our goal is to establish and maintain a robust 1st Line of Defense control environment and culture to minimize operational risk within the business. Markets Resolution & Recovery Planning Team is a sub team within Risk and Control. We are looking for a dynamic Business Analyst to join the Markets Resolution & Recovery Planning Team, supporting the oversight of the system calculated daily reporting of resolution P&L unwind costs and funding requirements.
