Ferguson is actively hiring for a Business Analyst - Corporate Real Estate!
As a Business Analyst - Corporate Real Estate, you will play a critical role in supporting the optimization of our network of owned and leased real estate comprised of over 1500 locations totaling approximately 47m square feet.
Location: This will be a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. However, more in office time may be required initially for onboarding and training.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the strategic portfolio plan for both owned and leased real estate assets by performing detailed and complex financial analyses.Manage the gathering, maintenance, and application of internal and third-party market analytics to support valuation assessments, detailed metro analyses, buy vs. lease scenarios, and other data-driven insights that optimize portfolio performance.Conduct research and financial analysis to evaluate real estate market trends, helping team members make informed property investment decisions.Assist the Portfolio Strategy team with in-depth analysis and data support, enabling partners to visualize portfolio performance and provide comprehensive reports and presentations that support decision-making.Collaborate with external partners to explore alternative financial strategies (e.g., Tenant Credit Leases, Forward Funding, Sale-Leaseback, etc.) for real estate acquisitions, lease transactions, and dispositions.Analyze current and potential real estate investments to assess their fit within the portfolio, providing detailed financial analyses to support executive-level decisions.Study economic factors and market trends, using sophisticated financial models to offer sound investment recommendations.Assist in the development and review of financial modeling tools to ensure their accuracy and completeness.Stay informed on financial market trends and economic indicators to offer up-to-date insights.Foster positive engagement with internal teams across Real Estate and Facilities, as well as external partners.Preferred Education / experience5-7 years of experience in analyzing complex financial models in detail.Strong understanding of permitting, zoning, and municipal requirements.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Proficient in Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Relationship Building, Time Management, Risk Mitigation, Planning, and both written and verbal Communication.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex multi-disciplinary financial data, identify trends, and deliver clear, actionable insights.Ability to engage with a wide range of partners, both internal and external, and communicate effectively.In-depth understanding of market dynamics and trends, with the ability to provide informed advice based on this knowledge.Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, or creating visual interpretations of data is a plusDemonstrated sense of urgency and ability to manage high expectations, with a focus on cost management and positioning the company for future growth.At Ferguson, we care for each other. Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
