The Business Analyst I is responsible for supporting business analysis activities within the organization, ensuring alignment with the BABOK framework. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, documenting requirements, and assisting in the development of solutions that meet business objectives. The Business Analyst I will utilize the BABOK framework to ensure best practices in business analysis are followed.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions using techniques such as interviews, workshops, focus groups, and surveys.Engage in activities across the six knowledge areas defined by the BABOK: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring, Elicitation and Collaboration, Requirements Life Cycle Management, Strategy Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Design Definition, and Solution Evaluation. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Manage and maintain requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurately reflect stakeholder needs.Ensure traceability of requirements from inception to implementation, including the creation of traceability matrices.Assist in prioritizing requirements based on business value, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals.Conduct impact analysis to assess the effects of changes to requirements on project scope, schedule, and resources.Analyze business needs and identify opportunities for improvement, including the identification of business problems and opportunities.Assist in defining business goals, objectives, and strategies, ensuring they align with organizational vision and mission.Support the development of business cases and feasibility studies, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.Conduct SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to inform strategic decision-making.Analyze and model business processes to identify areas for improvement, using techniques such as process mapping, flowcharts, and use case diagrams.Define and document detailed business and functional requirements, including user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.Assist in the development of solution designs that meet business needs, ensuring they are feasible and align with organizational goals.Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.Participate in the evaluation of proposed solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver expected benefits.Assist in the development and execution of test plans and test cases, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.Support the implementation and validation of solutions, ensuring they meet stakeholder expectations and deliver intended outcomes.Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of solutions and identify areas for improvement.Develop and maintain strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically and creatively.Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.Demonstrate proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, including requirements management software and modeling tools.Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience in the related field.0-6 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.Familiarity with the BABOK framework and its application in business analysis.Gathering requirements, writing Use Cases, writing User Stories, writing test cases, identifying functional and non-functional requirements, applying tests to the requirements to validate.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business analysis tools.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in business process improvement and business process designCertification in Business Analysis (e.g., ECBA) is a plus.
Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 per year
