Business Analyst IT

The Business Analyst works directly with our Business and delivery teams to gather requirements and process to support delivery packages and requests.  The delivery team works towards determining how people, data, processes, communications, and information technology can best accomplish improvements for the business. In achieving this, you will act as a facilitator and liaison, bridging the gap between the sponsoring group and technical resources. When problem solving, the focus is primarily on the business and technical aspects.

The Business Analyst is responsible for developing documentation including business cases, funding documentation, requirements, process maps and decision records

What Else You Get To Do

Work with the Delivery manager on enhancement prioritization and KanBan board management Work with critical stakeholders on the problem statement and story card definitions Help leadership build timelines and cost estimates and the tech leads and analysts on time estimations Collaborate with key stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and ensure alignment with the overall IT strategy. Foster relationships with key stakeholders to proactively identify potential projects and assess their business impact. Participate in the development of business cases alongside our Business for, in alignment with ATCO, IT, and regulatory standards.  Run facilitation workshops for requirements and process flow conversations. Engage in the RFP process to evaluate vendors/solutions. Including: Assist the business to create scoring/validation matrix. Attend RFP demo’s as requested. Work with Vendor Management to ensure the documentation is ready for submission. Define requirements traceability matrix. Oversee the testing phase, to work with business stakeholders and operations teams to support UAT testing, andcollaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure thorough test planning and execution from a requirements resolution and testing strategy perspective. Provide feedback into continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.

Who You Are: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, related field or equivalent experience 6+ years of relevant business analysis experience, ideally in an ERP and HCM space Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on IT projects and utility industry  Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and others relevant to business analysis Ability to distinguish between customization and configuration. Knowledge of multiple project methodologies. Communication skills: Able to interact with comfort at C-level management and flexibility to change communication styles to the audience. Draft documentation and presentations for all levels of consumption Ability to describe in detail past projects and key outcomes. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully to internal and external groups. Produces effective and professional written materials. Compliance with and influence on other project team members to ensure project methodologies and standards are being followed. Strong desire to be a team player, gain new relationships within the direct team as well as external to the team.
