Business Analyst/Technical Writer

Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst/Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting requirements, reviewing and editing proposals, and providing comprehensive analysis of Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents. This individual should be adept at translating complex business and technical requirements into clear, concise documentation, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, working in both the private and public sectors, particularly on government contracts. The successful candidate must also be able to obtain or maintain security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Draft detailed business and technical requirements documents based on stakeholder inputs, project scope, and industry best practices.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and ensure documentation meets the needs of all stakeholders.
+ Review and edit proposals, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and adhere to internal quality standards and client specifications.
+ Provide critical analysis on RFI and RFP responses, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Engage with internal teams and clients to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure a consistent understanding of project goals.
+ Create process documentation, technical manuals, user guides, and other support materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and implementation.
+ Assist in the management of project timelines, ensuring that documentation is completed on time and within scope.
+ Collaborate with senior management and teams to streamline documentation practices and enhance communication strategies.
+ Work effectively with government stakeholders, ensuring compliance with federal, state, or local requirements in all documentation and proposals.
+ Manage the documentation and proposal processes for government contracts, ensuring adherence to all government regulations, guidelines, and security protocols.
+ Able to travel to conferences
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Technical Writer, or similar role, preferably in a technical or IT-related environment.
+ Proven experience working in both private and public sectors, including government contracts and compliance with government requirements.
+ Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance.
+ Strong proficiency in drafting business requirements, proposals, and RFIs/RFPs.
+ Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
+ Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing team communication.
+ Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and document management software.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ US Citizenship required.
Desirable Skills:
+ Experience in Agile or other project management methodologies.
+ Knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLC) and business process modeling.
+ Previous experience with RFI/RFP evaluation or proposal writing for government contracts.
+ Familiarity with government contracting processes, regulations, and security protocols.
