Business Analytics & Industrial Engineering Co-Op (Spring 2025)
Universal Destinations & Experiences Co-Op Program: + Spring 2025 Program Dates: Approximately January 2025 - May 2025 JOB SUMMARY: The Engineer, Industrial Co-Op assists the Business Analytics & Industrial Engineering Department in accomplishing tasks, including: time studies, data collection, data analysis, metric development and execution, and projects pertaining to increasing efficiency, reducing costs, impacting sales, and improving throughput. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: + Execute and participate in data collection studies. Perform data analysis using statistical tools and methodologies. + Utilize industrial engineering and business analytics tools (e.g., probability and statistics, process flow analysis, queuing theory, data visualization / dashboarding, etc.) as appropriate to improve operational efficiency. Can include aiding in developing and using analytical forecasting/prediction models that yield process and labor improvement recommendations and improved property-wide operations planning. Could also include establishing key performance tracking metrics and monitoring ongoing performance. + Aid in the development and execution of productivity and efficiency related analyses. Evaluate and improve methods and procedures for the various operational processes throughout the resort. + Aid in the development and delivery of business cases & presentations with potential audiences including front line stakeholders, business leaders, and executive leadership. + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. + Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: + In pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Industrial Engineering or equivalent program. EXPERIENCE: + 1+ year educational experience in an accredited Industrial Engineering or equivalent program, prior internship and/or prior industrial engineering experience preferred. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: + MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. + REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Please note the following: + This internship will be fully in person, based in our Orlando offices. + Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than May2025. + Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
