Electrification Business Area Trade Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, your primary focus will be on enhancing trade related maturity and expertise where needed in our business, developing critical capabilities in the business operations, serving as a central point for transaction related escalations and supporting business leadership in ensuring compliance standards are being met. You will work with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, R&D and the EL global/local Trade community. Within the Electrification business, you will be mainly accountable for:•\tRegulatory scope: stay up to date with regulatory developments, collaborate with stakeholders to assess business impact and communicate to business and trade practitioners on required action and adjustment of processes when applicable.•\tABB Trade Governance, Instructions and Procedures: know ABB Trade Compliance policies, support business in developing their understanding, drive effective implementation and facilitate monitoring.•\tOrganization, risk mapping and mitigation: identify main areas of risk associated with controlled products, technology and software, as well as trade with sensitive countries, regions and business partners. Compile and present BA- and Division specific risk reports, formulate proposals for mitigation.•\tTransactional Trade Compliance evaluations, case reviews and mitigation, risk management: Enhance the capability of local trade compliance officers to handle trade compliance evaluations, respond to transactional escalations and facilitate mandatory trade related internal approval processes. Support Divisions in reviewing trade related cases of (potential) non-compliance, identifying root causes and support case resolution, risk mitigation and process improvement.•\tBusiness integration- and divestment: perform trade compliance assessment of newly (to be) acquired businesses. Take part in and contribute to trade compliance (sub-) workstreams that are established to handle trade related requirements of divestment- or integration projects.•\tCommunication, Training and trade related competency development: in collaboration with the COE, develop and roll out a trade related training program. Drive internal communication on regulatory updates, best practices and case examples via EL communication channels. You have a customer-focused mindset, and you address compliance requirements in a pragmatic and risk-based manner. With a proactive approach and strong business understanding, you ensure trade compliance in a way that not only protects the organization but also supports, drives and accelerates business growth.The Trade Compliance Specialist is expected to have strong functional knowledge and the ability to bring this knowledge to our business operations where this is required and/or makes sense. With your expertise, you perform time critical transactional evaluations, and you enjoy reviewing cases, identifying (root) causes of issues, and mitigating exposure. This role involves working with stakeholders across the entire internal value chain and providing expert guidance. You contribute to best-in-class trade compliance practices, ensuring regulatory compliance.This role will report to the Electrification Business Area Trade Manager.The ideal candidate is based in Europe. Business travel may be required occasionally (max up to 20%). Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor or master degree from an accredited academy or school and/or an advanced diploma of an alternative institue with sufficient reputable standing. Preferably in legal / compliance, or at least strong affinity with the legal domain and proven experience in implementing regulatory and policy requirements.\tThe jobholder must have around 10 year of working experience, out of which at least 5 years working in trade compliance and handling transactional trade compliance evaluations\tStrong expertise in global sanctions and export controls. Certain expertise in customs compliance preferred, but room for growth. Understanding of how to apply the expertise in end-to-end supply chain and operations processes.\tBusiness mindset, strong sense of ownership and self-driven, good communicator, team player\tStrong in cross-functional collaboration, internal- and interpersonal communication, in-house competence training \tSkilled in working with trade management and trade compliance tools, incl. SAP GTS and various on-line screening tools (MK Denial, Orbis, etc.)
