Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled GeoSpatial Sr. Developer with expertise in Java to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 8 years of experience in business operations and will work in a hybrid model. This role requires a deep understanding of geospatial technologies and Java development to drive impactful solutions. The position operates during day shifts and does not require travel.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement geospatial applications using Java to meet business requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize geospatial solutions.Provide technical expertise in geospatial data processing and analysis.Ensure the integration of geospatial data with existing business operations systems.Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of geospatial databases.Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to geospatial applications.Lead the development of user-friendly interfaces for geospatial tools.Monitor and improve the performance of geospatial applications.Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in geospatial and Java development.Document technical specifications and project requirements.Provide training and support to team members on geospatial technologies.Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.Qualifications
Possess a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Geography or a related field.Have 7 to 8 years of experience in Java development and geospatial technologies.Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Show proficiency in geospatial data processing and analysis tools.Have experience with geospatial databases such as PostGIS or Oracle Spatial.Be familiar with web mapping libraries and frameworks.Display knowledge of business operations and their integration with geospatial solutions.Have a strong understanding of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.Show commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.Be proactive in identifying and addressing technical challenges.The Cognizant community:
