Business Banking Ops Credit Delivery Director
Description As the Business Banking Director of C&I Credit Delivery, you will support Managers who lead teams of Commercial Underwriters and Portfolio Managers. The teams manage credit requests and portfolios that range from the digital platform (up to $250M) to $20MM credits with complex corporate organizational, documentation and collateral structures. The individual must balance the need to add profitable credit business with the need to maintain acceptable credit quality. Exercises sound credit judgment in the use of their Credit Approval Framework (CAF) individual credit authority where applicable. Additional responsibilities to include: + Assures that all UWs/PMs are fully supported and kept up to date on Business Banking credit policies and issues affecting the general economy. Actively ensures compliance with federal regulations and CFG policies. Actively involved in assessing, developing and implementing credit and compliance policies. + Responsible for efficient use of resources that maximizes production while minimizing response times to clients. + Designs and monitors internal systems to assure that all assigned work and ongoing monitoring is completed on a timely basis and in a manner that complies with all CFG internal policies. Prioritizes work that is assigned to the group, assures that work is appropriately distributed among the team members and is responsible for objective quality control of groups analytical and reporting work product to include accurate application of credit, risk, and other policies and practices required to effectively manage risk exposure and loss to the bank. + Manages the performance management and development process for all direct and indirect reports. Role may include management of colleagues in remote locations. Your time will be approximately allocated as follows: + People Management (20%) - Work with managers to ensure the capability level of UWs/PMs and that staff resources and internal process are optimized for efficient delivery and servicing of department product. Manages the performance management and development process. Supports training and developmental sessions on credit topics. Actively coaches direct and indirect reports to enhance performance outcomes. Sets clear and measurable expectations with existing direct and indirect reports and with internal business partners. Exhibits strength in communicating organization and department goals and objectives. + Credit Analysis & Stewardship (30%) - Significant focus on all critical risk metrics as highlighted in monthly routines related to asset quality, credit products and policy compliance. Makes certain that direct reports manage their teams with a high degree of expertise and in compliance with risk and regulatory requirements. Ensures that indirect reports’ work product is quality controlled and compliant with Business Banking Credit Policy. Demonstrates superior practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis. Demonstrate sound judgment in the exercise of individual lending authority. Effectively interacts with Credit Officers, Credit Review, Risk and other CFG partners to ensure a smooth working interaction across all areas of responsibility. Works in partnership with all key stakeholders to respond to credit conditions within the portfolio that may warrant corrective action. Possesses expert level of knowledge related to credit policy and practices across the entire portfolio. Evaluate findings from Credit Review and other examining groups, providing responses as needed. + Internal Colleague Communication (20%) - Exhibits comprehensive written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation development and delivery skills, and shows high level of expertise when interacting with Directors, RMs, COs, and senior management when discussing credit structure and business risks. Pro-actively builds relationships both within Business Banking and across the enterprise. Is able to view credit situations from multiple angles and can debate the merits of a given credit situation and defend position. Actively engages with all necessary colleagues on progress, issues and challenges. Brings forth ideas, solutions and drives actions individually and through others to resolve business and customer challenges. + Project Management (20%) - Lead or participate in planning and implementing changes to policy, procedures or platforms that drive greater efficiency, reduce risk, or increase profitability. + Administrative Support (10%) - Provide support to BCS Project Analyst as necessary for a variety of topics essential to managing the Business Credit Service team. Topics include but are not limited to, Procedure Governance, Continuity Planning, Job Aid & Forms library, Law Firm management, Records Management, Vendor Service Monitoring. Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials + Project management experience + Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments, risk partners, and regulatory agencies + Ability to liaise with partner credit directors on key initiatives, and serve as a single point of contact + Experience with risk analytics team on identifying and tightening or loosening of credit parameters + Form close partnership with agile colleagues on platform developmental work + 10+ years commercial credit experience including underwriting and managing these people in these functions + Strong overall communication skills + Bachelor’s Degree required Hours & Work Schedule + Hours per Week: 40 + Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Some job boards have started using jobseeker-reported data to estimate salary ranges for roles.
