The Business Banking Relationship Manager I is responsible for developing and managing a diversified banking products and services portfolio. This includes identifying and marketing lending opportunities, coordinating and participating in loan structuring, underwriting, originations, servicing; and engaging in full cycle relationship management and cross selling cash management, merchant, and wealth management opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
·Identifies business development opportunities with prospects or current customers; markets and provides counsel on the Bank’s credit and cash management products and services.
·Sources and/or prospects for new loans and deposits, and sources referrals to other Banking opportunities.
·Collects application documents, works with the credit analysts to assess client’s financial condition; determines credit risk and makes loan structuring and underwriting decisions within approval authority or seeks appropriate joined approval authority; coordinates closing and the completion and review of final documents.
·Serves as Relationship Manager by providing ongoing customer service support and guidance to existing and new Business Banking clients and client decision makers; maintains up-to-date client files, manages renewals, and processes servicing requests such as collecting past due payments, exception clearing, responding to information inquiries and facilitating transfer and draw requests.
·Maintains current and in depth knowledge on banking and lending products, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, as well as market and industry activities and trends.
Competencies Required:
·Excellent external and internal customer service and relationship management skills with the ability to convey a positive attitude and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, tact and salesmanship.
·Excellent sales, negotiating and implementation skills and the ability to effectively promote all bank products and services.
·Proven credit underwriting skills
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective sales acumen.
·Strong practical knowledge of commercial banking and lending products, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and market trends.
·Developed critical thinking and decision making skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial and credit information.
·Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage workload and to instill a sense of urgency in others as necessary to meet deadlines.
·Solid technology skills, including ability to navigate and search related websites, and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office (Excel, Office, Word, and SharePoint) and banking software applications (Bancline, Mozart).
