Purpose of the position: 

 

The Business Center Manager will assure the manufacturing process within the specified business center meets objectives related to safety, quality, cost and delivery. This position develops/directs strategies to align with objectives. The incumbent will drive business center operations to scorecard attainment through application of plant optimization methodology.
The incumbent will create a culture of continuous improvement through the usage of plant optimization pillars to engage associates and drive performance. This role leads focused improvement (FI) efforts (within the business center) with a sense of urgency.
The associate will review/evaluate business center budget requirements for capital expenditures, labor, production/operations, etc. - Assuring budget objectives are met.
In addition, the Business Center Manager will drive initiatives that promote the continuous skill development (CSD) of associates. This position will also develop workforce planning processes to ensure on-going succession planning within the business center.

 

Primary duties/ responsibilities:

Lead performance of the business center staff (through plant optimization) to ensure safety, quality, production and delivery goals are being met.

Through deployment of plant optimization and associate engagement create an environment of promoting growth/development of business center associates, by leveraging the CSD pillar, professional development and ensuring compliance to Goodyear policies. Provide development/coaching to Area Managers within the business center. 

Create/Implement long-term vision strategies for the operations that support plant and regional objectives.

Monitor/Control costs related to the plant (including labor, materials and equipment).

 

Education:
REQUIRED:  Bachelors degree or in lieu of degree 13 or more years of experience in manufacturing and supervision
DESIRED:  Masters Degree 

 

Experience:

8 or more years of experience in manufacturing and supervision (driving day-to-day operations)
Strong communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to drive change through influencing skills
Ability to work in either a union free or unionized facility
Experience developing a team(s)
