About You and This Role As the Business Communications Leader for Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) in EMEA, you will be a strategic marketing communications expert with deep content and channel knowledge. Your role will involve developing and implementing communications programs that engage current and potential customers, as well as other relevant stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to strategically develop and tactically implement external positioning strategies that support the business growth objectives of the EMEA P&SP commercial organization. Additionally, you will showcase Dow’s ambition to be the most innovative, customer-centric, inclusive, and sustainable materials science company in the world. This position reports directly to P&SP’s Senior Global Business Communications Director and aligns closely with the EMEA P&SP Commercial Vice President. This role is preferably based in Wiesbaden, Germany, but other major Dow Europe locations (Brussels, Madrid, Seneffe & Terneuzen) will be considered. You will be part of a global team of regionally based communications professionals aligned with P&SP. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Sustainability, TS&D, and Sales to deliver value in strategic markets for plastics, such as food and beverage packaging, industrial and consumer packaging, hygiene and medical applications, industrial applications, mobility, and adhesives products. Responsibilities + Support and counsel the Commercial Vice President and other regional business leaders in positioning and communicating business initiatives, issues, and thought leadership both externally and internally. + Connect business needs and opportunities with other businesses and functions globally or regionally to advance and protect the Dow brand. + Engage as a contributing member of the EMEA P&SP leadership team, as well as the P&SP Business Communications leadership team. + Direct business communications strategy, ensuring alignment to plans and priorities, and direct global or regional business communications team from priority, workload, coaching, career development, and administrative standpoints. + Lead the development and implementation of marketing communications plans that align with business marketing plans and employ audience-appropriate channel mixes. + Develop, manage, and deliver content that engages target audiences, including message development, writing and storytelling, video production, and graphic design instruction. Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree (~16 years). + 10-12 years of experience in marketing, business communications, and/or related communications disciplines. + Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions, and businesses, along with the skills to manage multiple projects, perspectives, and clients simultaneously, prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines. + A clear understanding of digital communications and content marketing, along with excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills. + Excellent interpersonal, networking, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills. + People leadership experience. + Commitment to building a healthy, happy, high-performing team – embracing inclusion and diversity, outside-in thinking, creativity, value-add mentality, personal development, confidence in capabilities, and clarity in priorities and expectations.
