Job Description

NERA seeks a Business Development and Marketing Manager (BDM) to aid in the implementation of strategic business development initiatives across the firm. This position represents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced business development professional to research and identify new business opportunities and execute innovative approaches that will drive growth.

Based in our London office, this position is an integral part of NERA’s international marketing team, the BDM will work closely with colleagues from the Business Development and Marketing team, firm leaders, and consultants, to identify new marketing and business development opportunities, engage new clients, expand existing relationships, and increase brand awareness of the firm. NERA seeks an entrepreneurial, energetic, and highly collaborative individual with exceptional attention to detail and internal client service.


Key Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of clients and industries served to help proactively identify and spot business trends, new business development opportunities.Research and identify potential business leads through various channels, including online research, social media, proprietary reporting, and networking events.Assist with the development and implementation of effective growth strategies to develop new revenue streams.Evaluate inbound leads to identify new growth opportunities.Collaborate with contact relationship management (CRM) team to grow segments that align with business development strategies.Track and measure opportunities and the effectiveness of strategies and plans related to them.Develop and manage the production of relevant marketing collateral and intellectual capital.Plan and execute marketing events, such as webinars, conferences, sponsorships, and other client events.Cultivate strong relationships with consultants to help enable them to accomplish their business objectives more effectively.Proactively identify and pursue appropriate speaking and writing opportunities for consultants.Continuously look to develop and deliver best marketing practices across all initiatives.Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Effective communication skills are required, including excellent writing, proofreading, and verbal capabilities.Proficiency in using digital marketing tools and platforms, such as CRM, SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and email marketing. Salesforce experience highly desirable.Ability to analyze multiple points of data, interpret information, and summarize both in high-level bullets and thorough reporting.Experience in direct business development in a B2B environment.Experience using data analytics and artificial intelligence in a business development capacity.Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, economics, English, journalism, or related field; master’s degree is preferred.Minimum six to 10 years of relevant marketing experience. Professional services firm experience highly desirable.Must be fluent in English. Fluency in German, French, and/or Spanish is highly desirable.Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands.Exceptional project management skills.Self-starter with ability and drive to multi-task under time-sensitive schedules where multiple projects are pursued concurrently.Experience working within an international team.Possess the intellectual capacity and curiosity required to understand the ways in which economic analysis plays a pivotal role in business, legal, and regulatory matters.Successful history of translating complex, technical concepts into accessible prose, supported by strong research and analytic skills. Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are crucial.Ability to work effectively with all constituencies, including senior-level management, marketing team members, and outside vendors.Proactive, collaborative, and positive attitude.Exercises confidentiality and discretion.
