Summary: The Business Development (BD) Associate for Goldbelt Nighthawk is responsible for driving the capture processes in conjunction with Business Development professionals, Account Managers, and Solution Architects. The BD Associate will be focused on Intelligence Community (IC) customers and will serve as the lead for pre-proposal shaping activities, active proposal reviews, and post-submittal activities. Roles include: Contract negotiations with customers and development of business-to-business (B2B) relationships; Formal correspondence and communication with internal and external personnel; Development and sustainment of sound business practices which preserve profitability and growth; Research and identification of future customer opportunities; Development of current customer opportunities; Bid and proposal functions including advising teams to successfully develop solution architectures with sound technical writing techniques; and Resource assessments to foster sustainable projections and contract backlog. The BD Associate’s success and measure of performance will be primarily assessed based on meaningful and sustainable new revenue and margin generated from the target sectors while meeting discrete annual goals and objectives for revenue, bookings/backlog, margin, and opportunity assessments. The BD Associate reports directly to the President of Goldbelt Nighthawk. The BD Associate will coordinate with Bid and Proposal (B&P) staff to bolster capture in association with B&P pipelines and associated Blue Team solutioning actions. The Capture Manager will also be responsible for advising on risk mitigation for new opportunities to preserve revenue, business relationships, and profit margins in support of Goldbelt Nighthawk shareholders. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Business Development (BD) Support: Development of new opportunities to facilitate both profitable and sustainable business, focused on the intelligence market. This position requires proven background and experience with expertise focused on intelligence analysis, production, dissemination, and other areas including (but not limited to) OSINT, GEOINT, HUMINT, and SIGINT. Analytics incorporating win strategies and formal gate reviews and bid/no bid decisions based on management goals, initiatives, and identified sectors/areas of focus. Discussions as they relate to agreement preparation and review, to include NDA, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), sales agreements, commission agreements (internal and external), distributor, and dealer agreements, etc. The decision authority for these agreements will be handled through the Contracts Department. A high-level of advisory support is necessary including the drafting of specific agreements on a case-by-case basis. Entries into BD support tools for tracking purposes as-well-as resource assessments. Commercial BD sales, support, strategy definition, and budget analysis. Capture Management: Cradle-to-grave capture management planning and support. Assembly of capture materials and preparation for strategic positioning. Standardization of business/capture intelligence gathering including funding analysis. Proposal preparation while capitalizing on capture materials. Contributions include leadership, solution architecture development, and technical writing. Documentation policy and process definition. Strategic planning and measured success reporting. Due diligence to include formalized process support as it relates to business operations as-well-as the development of standardized tools incorporating lessons-learned and continuous process improvement. Financial, planning, and budget analysis to include projected profitability analysis. U.S Government and commercial sales. Marketing: Marketing material preparation, editing, and incorporation of changes. This includes market or sector-specific materials to include working with technical leads for the development of white papers and case studies. Guidance and leadership for team members encompassing presentation instruction, strategic cognitive persuasion, etc. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Problem Solving ability to identify the root causes of complex problems and systematically review circumstances employing relevant standards and prior experience in order to develop and evaluate the best options. Business Acumen - knowledgeable about current and future issues that could affect the organization. Building Effective Teams - with high morale and spirit; encouraging open dialog works among teams with informal authority and across business units. Directing Others - planning, organizing, and managing workload appropriately by communicating clearly upward, downward, and laterally throughout the organization. Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication as-well-as a strong understanding of the English language. Preparation of written reports, business correspondence, and technical writing to include procedure manuals. Presentation Skills – adept and confident at presenting in all business settings from one-on-ones, with small or large groups, with peers, colleagues, supervisors and superiors, external participants as-well-as the general public. Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat editing of PDFs to include compiling, comments and extracting, working knowledge of how to operate Internet browsers to include certificate exceptions for access to certain Government websites. This position requires a high-volume of travel which includes travel to multiple customer and business partner sites, primarily within the CONUS. Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle including rental vehicles for travel purposes. Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA or equivalent, preferably in a related field. At least 8-years of experience and expertise tied to the IC and demonstrated proficiency in the areas of intelligence gathering, analysis, dissemination, and aggregation of solutions in support and management of Government contracts. Must have proven and demonstrated acumen with the acquisition process including Government contracts of significant size and complexity. Minimum 8-years of experience with relationship building between Government and industry. Minimum 8-years of experience in working with senior level decision makers in Government and industry. Recognized strategic acumen and agility to create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans. Minimum 8-years of experience leading multiple teams of personnel dispersed geographically in complex environments working with military, Government, and industry to evaluate and generate requirements, identify, and implement solutions in order to ensure mission success. Demonstrated Process Management ability to simplify complex processes and methodically organize people, resources, and activities to implement solutions while mitigating risk to profitability. Current United States Top Secret-Level Clearance required with eligibility for SCI and Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP). Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated track record of facilitating major contracts and significant deals with varying structures while executing with a high-level of customer satisfaction. Proven track record in evaluating and securing contracts within the United States. Familiarity with opportunities, the overall business environment, and regulatory approval processes for both domestic and foreign government directives. Negotiating ability to generate concessions without jeopardizing relationships and understand the relative value and importance of terms and conditions while adhering to all facets of the overall end state objectives.
