Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.
The Business Development Associate role sits on the Media Solutions team within Travel Partnerships and Media at Expedia Group. This team manages marketing partnerships, focusing on digital marketing within EMEA predominately for Airline partners and potentially other verticals. In this role, you will engage with airline partners directly and through any associated agencies to drive marketing partnerships on and off our platforms thus increasing value through comprehensive commercial conversations and interactions.
In this role, you will:
Develop and manage key relationships with partners, identifying decision makers and keyholders for the business
Create opportunities (e.g. progress and exploratory meetings) to build partner relationship and understand business needs and issues
Present valuable insights and data that can help guide partners to ideas, products, services and solutions that address business needs
Complete basic account plans that outline tactics to acquire and/or maintain business
Develop awareness of the policies, practices, trends, and information (including competitor information) that impact the organisation and its partners
Assist in conducting straightforward cost, benefit, and risk analyses of possible solutions and the implications not reaching an agreement.
Proactively seek help from a manager when needed to address areas of difference and ensure agreements among all parties and learn when to partner with legal resources to modify or adjust standard contract terms
Conduct contract negotiations and arrangements
Familiarise yourself with the company’s standard contract terms and conditions by reading product literature, contracts, and asking questions of peers
Experience and qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in selling digital media with Travel / Airline contacts and experience preferred but not essential
Bachelor's or equivalent experience
Growing knowledge of sales techniques
Proficient communicator with strong demonstration of stakeholder management and building key relationships with partners and colleagues
Ability to research key insights into understand partners’ industries and competitive market
Ability to drive new business opportunities and close complex negotiations
Results-driven, experience working with KPIs and working under pressure
Some account management experience preferred
