The Role

The Business Development Director will be responsible for identifying and securing new client relationships within the financial services industry. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong understanding of banking, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to align industry challenges with the firm’s solutions. Key responsibilities include:

Defining Value Propositions – Clearly communicate how the firm’s services address critical business challenges. Client Acquisition – Develop and execute a strategy to build relationships and win new business. Sales Execution – Meet and exceed revenue targets. Market Strategy – Apply insights to help shape future services and refine the firm’s market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Lead consultative discussions with prospective clients to uncover needs and position solutions effectively. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within retail and consumer banking. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to refine service offerings and market positioning. Drive the entire sales process from prospecting to closing.

Market Strategy & Growth

Leverage industry expertise to identify trends and emerging challenges in financial services. Work with leadership to refine business strategy based on market needs. Define marketing initiatives that support sales and brand awareness.

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate strong consultative sales skills in a professional services environment. Be highly motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive in driving business growth. Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients and colleagues. Have a deep understanding of banking and financial services, with expertise in retail/consumer banking. Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within a consulting or professional services firm. Experience managing strategic and large accounts within financial services. Strong knowledge of banking industry trends and relevant challenges. Demonstrated success in identifying and closing new business opportunities. Understanding of how data, analytics, and technology are leveraged in financial services. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
