Summary

The Business Development Director (National) will be responsible for managing proposals from blue-team to proposal submission; managing BD activities, including coordinating activities of sales staff, managing CRM, and supporting the creation of marketing and advertising materials; supporting the development and tracking of budgets. One ensures regulatory compliance of product and technology offerings; and supporting the mission of finding, recruiting and hiring the very best talent in the area. We're looking for an energetic person who will be a champion for the organization, a mentor for staff, and will not mind rolling up their sleeves and diving in where necessary.

Position Responsibilities

Oversees the execution of proposal process. Responsible for assembling required resources, skills, and matrixed support functions to develop proposal content and conformance to RFP requirements.Works with Finance to ensure project charge numbers are opened and managed for proposal efforts.Ensures regulatory compliance of all offerings.Focuses on new business models that leverage enabling trendsSolves customer problems in larger potential markets and rapidly assemble internal and external capabilities required to achieve growth in a very competitive marketplace.Validates ideas and achieve milestones in the development and execution of new business opportunities.Creates and tracks office and program budgets.Manages staff including interviewing applicants and mentoring new hiresWorks on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or date requires an evaluation of intangiblesOther duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
 

Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience12 years of demonstrated experience in proposal development and general management of business development activities10+ years of experience in the defense industryPriority given to candidates that have significant business development experience of 2+ years with demonstrated captures for new and emerging capabilities and/or captures 50M+Demonstrated experience in developing competitive proposals from $100k to multi-million dollar programs, including R&D and procurement proposals, as well as proposals for programs of recordStrong understanding of government proposal and program requirementsStrong understanding of regulatory requirements for US government programsStrong understanding of budget and schedule process and able to track and forecast using business analysis techniqueAbility to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time

The salary range for this role is:

$153,308 - $217,140

ITAR Requirement:

This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
