Business Development Executives work diligently to close new business opportunities provided by the Inside Sales Team or by their own prospecting. A Business Development Executive will contribute to the delivery of overall sales goals by managing clients through the sales cycle and closing deals. Business Development Executives are knowledgeable about the product and complete demonstrations for potential clients to show the value of the PitchBook Platform. This role provides the opportunity to autonomously build and manage a sales pipeline and grow the PitchBook client portfolio.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

\n\nConsistently meet and exceed sales goals\nBuild a pipeline of up to 100 high quality opportunities across different client types\nWork closely with our Inside Sales team to better understand potential new clients\nIndependently prospect new business opportunities, including building your own referral networks with potential and current clients\nBecome demo certified in order to successfully perform product demonstrations with potential clients, showing PitchBook platform features that serve their business needs\nAct as a consultant, taking the time to understand clients’ needs and business priorities and address them head on asking thorough and pointed questions, guiding potential clients through needs analysis and discovery sessions\nConsistently follow up on prospective client inquiries, utilizing Outreach to assist in regular and timely communication\nWork closely with our client development and account management teams to ensure a successful client relationship\nConsistently and accurately follow sales processes and expectations\nSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors\nParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested\n\n

Skills and Qualifications:

\n\nBachelor’s degree, commonly in economics, finance, or related majors preferred\n3+ years of successful outside sales and business development experience, with a technology product preferred\nExperience managing opportunities and workflow using Salesforce or similar CRM\nPossess strong negotiation skills and proven ability to effectively close leads\nInterest in financial markets or services, particularly private equity and venture capital\nEnjoy networking and conversing with new people every day and comfortable to engage a diverse array of clients\nSelf-motivated, persistent and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team\nAbility to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results\nHighly curious with a positive attitude\nTerrific prioritization skills to handle a large volume of leads efficiently\nExemplary verbal and written communication skills\nTeam player with entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to try new ideas in order to achieve greater levels of success\nProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily\n\n

Working Conditions:

\n

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 5 days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
