We have an opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join our Commercial & Infrastructure Flow outside business development team. This highly successful business manufactures pump solutions used in commercial fire suppression and HVAC systems, as well as municipal water, wastewater treatment, and flood control. In this newly created position to support growth, you will focus on driving new business development with end user customers, engineers, contractors, and distributors on prospective and defined account lists. ** This posting is for one position and candidates can be located anywhere in the territory. This position will cover the western United States (MT, WY, CO, and NM west to the coast, including AK and HI). Ideal candidates will be located near any of the posted locations within driving distance of a major airport. ** #LI-Remote

You will:

Conduct prospecting efforts, including cold calling and qualifying sales leads, with potential new customers, such as municipal water treatment plants, engineering firms, commercial developers, mechanical contractors, commercial property owners, etc.Utilize data and contacts provided by the revenue operations team to coordinate sales activities.Communicate customer product requirements with other departments such as marketing, manufacturing, engineering, technical support, quality, warranty, and operations to close new business.Organize and develop sales proposals, pricing and quotation details as required.Partner with account management team to drive key account sales growth and attain revenue and profit margin objectives.

Key Qualifications: 

Have earned a bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) degree.Have 3-5 years of industrial or commercial business development experience, including sales prospecting, cold calling, researching, qualifying and nurturing leads.Experience in the water treatment, water pump market, or related industries highly preferred.Technical aptitude and ability to learn and sell a portfolio of engineered products.Strong commercial aptitude, including ability to understand customer needs and requirements, identify solutions, build long-term dynamic relationships, and driven to find new markets or channels.Proven ability to communicate professionally with individuals both within and outside an organization.Customer focused, results-oriented, and possess strong negotiation skills.

Travel:

50-70% overnight travel to meet with customers or business partners.

Compensation:

For California residents, the anticipated total target cash range (TTC) will be from $130200 - $ 241900 / year. For all other candidates, the anticipated total target cash (TTC) range will be from $118400 - $219900 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as sales incentives.
