Our mission is to ensure that institutions—including military bases, schools,correctional facilities, senior nutrition programs, and emergency relief efforts—receive high-quality, cost-effective food solutions tailored to their needs.
We are seeking an experienced **Business Development Executive** to develop and execute a strategy for securing government contracts at the federal, state, and local levels. This individual willbe responsible foridentifyingcontract opportunities,preparingandsubmittingbids, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, andestablishingrelationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government procurement processes, with a particular focus on food service contracts for agencies such as:
+ **Military & Defense** (Department of Defense, VA hospitals, commissaries, and base dining facilities)
+ **Education Institutions** (National School Lunch Program, public school districts, universities, and Head Start programs)
+ **Correctional Facilities** (State and federal prisons, county jails, and juvenile detention centers)
+ **Senior & Assisted Living Programs** (Meals on Wheels, state-funded elder care programs)
+ **Disaster Relief & Emergency Services** (FEMA, Red Cross, state emergency response agencies)
+ **Healthcare & Public Welfare** (Hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and government-funded health initiatives)
The **Business Development Executive** willbe responsible fortargeting, bidding, and securing these contracts while ensuring all proposalsalignwith agency-specific requirements and regulatory compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Contract Targeting & Business Development**
+ Research andidentifygovernment procurement opportunities for food supply, prepared meals, and meal delivery services at the federal, state, and local levels.
+ Monitor and assess bid opportunities through platforms such as **SAM.gov,** **FedBizOpps** **, state procurement websites, and GSA schedules** .
+ Develop andmaintaina pipeline of government contract leads, aligning with company capabilities and growthobjectives.
+ Establish and nurture relationships with government procurement officers, agency buyers, and key decision-makers.
**Bidding &** **Proposal Management**
+ Manage the full life cycle of the bidding process, from sourcing RFPs/RFQs to final submission.
+ Develop and draft compelling proposals that highlight the company’s qualifications, product quality, pricing structure, and ability to fulfill contract requirements.
+ Work closely with internal teams (operations,logistics, finance, and compliance) to ensure bid accuracy and feasibility.
**Regulatory Compliance & Certifications**
+ Ensure compliance with **Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)** and other government procurement policies.
+ Maintain active registrations with **SAM.gov, SBA certifications, and other relevant procurement portals** .
+ Identify,Secureandmaintainnecessary certificationsthat could enhance contract eligibility.
+ Keepup-to-datewith changes in government food supply regulations, nutritional guidelines, and safety standards.
**Contract Execution & Relationship Management**
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for awarded contracts, ensuring proper execution and fulfillment of contractual obligations.
+ Collaborate with operations andlogisticsteams to guaranteetimelydeliveries, product compliance, and adherence to contract specifications.
+ Develop strategies for contract renewals, modifications, and potential expansions.
+ Manage contract performance metrics and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with agency expectations.
**Qualifications & Experience**
+ Proven Experience **:** Minimum **5+ years** of experience in government contracting, procurement, or business development, specifically in food service, CPG, or meal distribution.
+ Strong Procurement Knowledge:Expertisein **federal, state, and local procurement processes** , including responding to RFPs, RFQs, and sole-source opportunities.
+ Proposal Development Skills:Demonstratedsuccess in writing andsubmitting **winning** government bids.
+ Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge:Understanding of **FAR, USDA school meal guidelines, GSA schedules,** and agency-specific food supply standards.
+ Networking & Relationship Building:Experience working with **government buyers,** **contracting** **officers, and agency decision-makers** .
+ Detail-Oriented & Organized:Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
+ Technical Skills:Proficiencyin procurement databases, contract management tools, **Microsoft Office Suite, and government bidding software** .
+ Education:Bachelor’s degree in **Business** **, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Government Affairs, or a related field** (or equivalent experience).
