Northrop Grumman Defense Systems’ C4 Missile Defense Business Unit has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Business Development. This position reports to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.
This position is a critical role within the Strategy and Mission Solution team driving the Business Unit’s long-term growth in the domestic market. The selected candidate will be responsible for the development, assessment, and cultivation of new and existing opportunities for C4MD’s integrated air and missile defense command and control portfolio. The individual will work closely with a broader support team of subject matter experts from the C4MD organization, a worldwide network of sales representatives and consultants, and Northrop Grumman sector and corporate business development resources to identify opportunities, devise win strategies, and influence program offices and customers.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Manage business development activities at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG) to generate leads, create / shape and prioritize new business opportunities to achieve the growth goals of the operating unit Assist in creating, maintaining, and implementing an APG customer engagement strategy and senior customer visit plan for military, government, and industry leadership Collaborate with adjacent Northrop Grumman offices on growth strategies and develop inputs for the broader sector and corporate strategy Manage the operating unit’s pipeline and market data Prioritize and develop (with team support) marketing content for the operating unit Act as primary Aberdeen Proving Ground contact for key operating unit customer DOD program offices Interface with the business unit and division team and assure alignment of prioritiesBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) business, programs, or operational experienceExperience working with APG and the program offices located thereBusiness development, strategy, capture, or program management experience Knowledge of DoD acquisition, requirements, and budget policies and processes Active DoD Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business or related field Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) domain, program, or operational experience 20 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) programs Actively involved in industry groups, such as AFCEA and AUSAKnowledgeable in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g. Salesforce)Active Top Secret clearanceSalary Range: $156,800.00 - $235,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
