Northrop Grumman Space – Payload and Ground Systems Division has an opening for a Business Development Manager 3 to lead business development customer engagement operations for a complex portfolio of ongoing programs and growth opportunities. The job preferred locations is Linthicum, MD;

however, other locations are available: Aurora, CO, Colorado Springs, CO, Redondo Beach, CA and Dulles, VA.

This position is a highly visible opportunity reporting to the Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) Business Development Senior Director. This critical leadership role shall contribute to the long-term division growth for customer focused, domestic and international markets.  The selected candidate will be responsible for leading day-to-day Customer Engagement operations for the Space Sector’s PGSD and will work closely with several executives including the PGSD Vice President / General Manager, the division and business unit Strategy & Business Development Directors, the business unit Vice Presidents, and Space Sector business development resources. The successful candidate will be an action-oriented, collaborative, and detailed-oriented self-starter who demonstrates the ability successfully leverage and apply applicable experience in operations and project management to this dynamic and evolving role.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

Directs and manages Customer Engagement activities for the Division Staff and select Sector leadership member to strengthen relationships with DoD, IC, and IndustryCoordinates across four large business units, divisions, sector and corporate teams to manage engagement process and understands the key programs and pursuitsCommunicates regularly with Government Relations / Legislative AffairsCo-leads with the Communications team to manage tradeshows, conferences, and other major eventsProvides recurring reports and abides by tradeshow and conference approval processesCoordinates talking points on current programs and pursuits by collaborating with strategy, business development, program leaders, contracts, global supply chain, and engineering officesCoordinates select Division or Sector customer tours at PGS sites and select visits by the NG team to other customer’s locationsMaintains a repository of events through salesforce and other report databases

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of experience providing business, program, and/or operational support to DoD or IC programs or pursuitsBusiness development, strategy, capture, or program management experienceActive DoD top secret clearance (TS/SCI)

Preferred Qualifications: 

15+ years of experience supporting technology industryDirect program and operational experience within the Space and/or Intelligence domain Knowledge of DoD acquisition, requirements, and budget policies and processesWorking knowledge of U.S. Government procurement policies and regulationsProgram management, hardware and/or software engineering skillsExperience developing presentation for Executive LeadersExperience with NG Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

Salary Range: $156,800.00 - $235,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
