The Manager, Business is responsible for day-to-day marketing activities within assigned Division, Country or District in accordance with established Company and Divisional policies, procedures and standards.
What You Will Do:
Stays actively informed concerning business and management developments affecting present and potential customers and communicates this information promptly to the appropriate manager or responsible party. Maintains constant vigilance regarding marketing activities of competitors (i.e., changes in business strategies, technical capabilities, marketing tactics, organization and management) operating in the area of responsibility, especially other major classification societies, and communicates intelligence to the appropriate manager or responsible party. Assists in the development of short- and long-range business plans based on the projected business climate and the business plan. Assists in managing the development of project management plan. Assists in the development of the business plans, materials and tools to implement the business plan and budget, as approved, in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards. Ensures that ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System requirements with regard to marketing activities within the their area of responsibility are fulfilled. Keeps informed of the Marine and Offshore Business as appropriate to their market, identifies improvement and developmental needs, takes action to capitalize on prospective market opportunities, and makes recommendations for technology or technical tools necessary to implement new and improved products and services. Actively promotes the services and capabilities of the ABS Business to customers and monitors the execution of similar activities by any assigned subordinates. Monitors the delivery and quality of services to customers in terms of customer satisfaction and communicates issues to the appropriate manager or responsible party .What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in appropriate technical discipline is preferred Should have previous related marine industry experience and appropriate certification and/or licenses in area of specialization.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The knowledge and ability to communicate orally and in writing highly complex and unique technical issues to laymen and experts in related technical fields. The management skills to organize, plan, and direct the work activities of other professional employees. The human relations skills necessary to organize, direct and motivate senior level professionals and managers. These skills are also necessary to develop strong client relationships at the highest levels. An entrepreneurial mentality that enables the incumbent to recognize and capitalize on new business opportunities. Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.Reporting Relationships:
Reports to a Director or Executive level position and may have individual contributor direct reports.
