Business Development Manager Print (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/cstx/jobs/newprint/4598795) Apply  Business Development Manager Salary $83,886.00 - $125,828.00 Annually Location College Station, TX Job Type Full Time Job Number 2402244 Department Economic Development Opening Date 07/29/2024 Closing Date 1/31/2025 11:59 PM Central Hiring Range $83,886.00 - $96,468.90 Annually + Description + Benefits + Questions Description Under general direction of the Assistant Director Economic Development, the Business Development Manager performs a variety of professional administrative functions related to Economic Development including coordinating a pro-active development engagement initiative; managing the direct recruitment of business prospects at the local, state, national and international level; and preparing and implementing policies and programs relative to economic development initiatives. Principal Duties + Identify and target prospective industry leads for business recruitment and expansion opportunities. + Assist in the preparation and negotiation of incentives for business prospects. + Oversee, train, motivate and evaluate assigned staff; work with employees to correct deficiencies; identify and resolve employee concerns and/or problems; direct work; complete employee performance evaluations; and make hiring, terminating and disciplinary decisions or recommendations. + Develop and implement programs, policies and plans to facilitate business retention and expansion activities, including entrepreneurship and innovation. + Coordinate with businesses on programs to support workforce development and industry needs. + Participate in development of new and existing business/industrial parks through both public initiatives and public/private partnerships. + Develop and maintain tracking data and industry database for prospective businesses and support the implementation of department goals and objectives. + Support various development-related community stakeholders and assist in developing strong and close working relationships with the same. + Act as a departmentally neutral project facilitator, to be accessed by, and for, College Station-development stakeholders. + Conduct sophisticated and highly technical research and analysis on the community and departmental projects, activities, and operations. + Provide information and/or make presentations and conduct meetings to appropriate audiences on economic development issues, programs, services, and plans. + Serve as project manager for sophisticated or advanced projects and assignments. + Perform other professional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field and five (5) or more years of economic development experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Texas Driver’s License Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Project management and mediating and/or negotiating skills Knowledge of principles and practices of planning as they pertain to development and zoning Knowledge of municipal codes, ordinances, state statutes, application processing, scheduling, review procedures and code compliance Preferred: Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience AICP designation CEcD designation Supplemental Information Position posted till filled or closing date.
