It focuses on the development of products and solutions to treat Structural Heart Disease (TAVI, TMTI, SI and CS). Revenue is over $2B and growing double digits. More than 5,000 people work for the Structural Heart Business Unit. R&D & Innovation - organic and acquired - is a core pillar of the Structural Heart Business unit. Support the Business Development Process for the structural Heart Business Unit. Lead some of the critical aspects of said process. Business Development is broadly defined and includes potential investment / acquisition of startups and partnerships with existing companies with the objective of growing and expanding Abbott Structural Heart Business. **What You’ll Work On** **Define the strategic vision, the needs, and the operating mechanism for BD** + Collaborate with the Director of strategy to understand the overall vision and strategy of the BU. + Collaborate with the Franchise directors to better understand the vision and needs of each franchise, + Support the Director of strategy in defining the vision for the BD function, + Support the Director of strategy in defining the BD strategy and identifying the BU needs, + Support the Director of strategy in developing operating mechanism for the BD function. **Source Potentials Targets / Partnerships** + Define the criteria to select potential targets / partnership for investments. + Search and identify potential targets / partnership by gathering internal knowledge, attending conferences, building KOL relationships, mining Database, working with VCs, etc.… + Select potential targets that are the most promising in terms of strategic fit and return on investment. **Build the case of investment and partnership** + Organize meetings with selected targets to better understand the business opportunity, + Ensure Cross functional alignment including with Corporate L&A + Build revenue models and PnL models to evaluate financial implications. **Due Diligence and Follow Up** + Participate in the due diligence process with the corporate L&A group, + Follow Up on Partnership agreements to ensure performance and alignment, **Communication & Project Management** + Prepare and deliver presentations for senior leadership to ensure clear and efficient communication, + Project manage the BD Process from sourcing to investment recommendation, + Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients. **Required Qualifications** + Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or business. + 7 to 10 years of professional experience, ideally in Medical Device (Marketing / RnD / Field). + Strong analytical skills: ability to work with numbers and concepts. + Excellent Project management skills. + Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. + Ability to work with and engage Senior Leadership frequently. + Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to manage uncertainty, adapt quickly and work under stressful conditions. + Ability to work autonomously with little supervision. + Ability to work and coordinate with multiple functions and different types of people. + Ability to assert herself/himself to keep projects and work on track. + The position requires moderate traveling (up to 20% of time). **Preferred Qualifications** + Preferred master’s degree in science or business. + Ideally in Medical Device (Marketing / RnD / Field). + Consulting experience would be a plus. The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 – $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
