The role:

This unique opportunity exists for you to take on a Business Development Manager role where you would primarily be responsible for growing our geo-analytical businesses, and our unique and innovative mineral testings services using laser ablation and spectral-machine learning applications.

 

This role will be located at Gauge Circuit in Canning Vale and will require travel to client sites and business functions on a as needed basis.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (including but not limited to)

Responsible for submission of test work tenders and proposals including:

Technical input and oversight regarding proposed technical procedures Assist with preparation of financial models (staffing, other operating costs, depreciation schedules etc) and internal documentation for approvals. Liaise with support functions and oversee all aspects of proposal submission (QHSE, Legal, Technical, Financial)

For successful bids:

Liaise with clients and in-house BV experts to refine our offering Liaise and support BV operations during early stages of new test programs Facilitate opportunities to cross-sell BV’s broader minerals test work services, such as mineralogy, extractive metallurgy, trade and minesite labs Ongoing engagement & liaison, as required, with clients and BV operations.

 

What’s needed?

Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:

A relevant tertiary qualification in science Strong mining industry network, with producers, explorers and vendors is highly regarded Previous customer-facing experience Experience in minerals laboratories, with at least 5 years’ experience, at either onsite or offsite facilities Strong grasp of the mineral testing services (mineralogy, extractive metallurgy, geo-analytical) and application across the full mine project lifecycle Strong knowledge of relevant services across the range of major commodities Experience with quality, accreditation and HSE requirements to meet client and industry standards Strong organisation and communications skills (written and verbal), IT savvy with ability to use all key Microsoft systems and CRM’s Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, ability to work alone or as part of a dynamic and diverse team Passion for staying abreast of new technologies or new value-add services Ability to travel to client offices, regional hubs, conferences, vendors or mine sites as required
