Business Development Manager

Role Description

The Business Development Manager, Metering Solutions reports to the Director of Business Development at ACRT Services. This position will play a key role in developing prospects within assigned markets and account territories while maintaining relationships with existing clients to increase sales of Bermex. This position requires a person who is a self-starter with a ‘hunter’ mentality and excellent communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development

Implement and execute sales objectives and strategies to achieve growth in established work types including but not limited to meter reading, meter installation, smart meter deployment, damage prevention, and line locatingIdentify and cultivate strong relationships with target customers in new markets while building a pipeline of new business opportunities.Initiate contact with prospective customers, assess their needs, propose tailored solutions, and secure signed agreements for ACRT Services; includes cold calling.Demonstrate the ability to take ownership of assigned territory and drive growth in new markets with a Hunter mentality.Generate new business and foster growth of existing accounts through relationship-building, networking, and effective communication of service offerings.Assist in preparing contractual provisions and proposals to secure new opportunities.Coordinate proposals, contracts, and subcontracts, including budgeting and proposal preparation.Utilize Sales & Marketing tools such as Responsive and HubSpot to manage and track sales activities.

Business Information Gathering & Maintenance

Stay updated on trends and developments in the industry, presenting insights and recommendations to the sales leadership team.Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline to ensure visibility into future opportunities.Understand financial impacts and margins for products and services sold.Research, develop, and present reports and proposals to demonstrate the cost-benefit of purchasing company services.Leverage technical knowledge of service offerings to support sales efforts and communicate client feedback to sales and operations teams for service improvements.Design and submit proposals in response to RFPs to capture new business opportunities.

Business Support

Serve as the primary liaison between clients and ACRT Operations Representatives, fostering strong collaboration with operations and finance teams.Quickly learn and adapt to multiple verticals, engaging in cross-selling as required.Lead operational activities to meet company objectives and deliver results.Provide assistance and support to sales, marketing, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless collaboration.Represent the company at industry tradeshows, present at events, and contribute to the creation of publication materials and webinars.Participate in internal bid meetings and planning sessions to align efforts with organizational goals.Monitor budgeting and spending, proposing adjustments as necessary to optimize resources.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the business.Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GEDExperience: 5 years of experience in B2B selling

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or EconomicsExperience: At least 8 years of B2B selling in the metering solutions space with 1 year of experience selling metering, AMI/AMR, or damage prevention services

Office

At ACRT Services we prefer in-person employee interaction and we rely on collaboration among groups to be successful and agile, which means we expect work in the office to continue as an important part of our company culture and a key to employee success. This position is a remote role, but is expected to travel up to 75% of the time including to customers, trade shows, the ACRT Services corporate office, and regional offices.

Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office and at home – a dedicated space at home to work is also required. Uninterrupted home-based internet is a must in your home to attend and host video calls, along with a minimum bandwidth speed of 20 mbps. If you do not have an in-home office space or cannot meet the internet needs, an office space will be provided for you in the company’s Stow, Ohio office.
