The Business Development Manager is responsible for the identification, sourcing, and evaluation of prospective clients and developing relationships with qualified prospective clients through cold calling, market research and representing Timmons Group at organized functions. The key responsibility of the Business Development Manager’s position is to identify opportunities, establish marketing approaches and develop alliance and partnership strategies for Timmons Group services. The position will play a key role in defining service sector target markets, establishing marketing and business development processes, as well as proposal preparation for clients.
This position requires a very detailed oriented, well organized, communicator who has demonstrated and proven business development skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Sales and Marketing
Assist with the design of marketing strategies for acquiring new businessConsistently identify new sources of businessDesign methods for initiating client research calls and maintaining contactDevelop, implement, and monitor contact management processEstablish techniques to use for screening and classifying prospectsSchedule/ conduct face-to-face meetings with current and prospective clients each weekFocus the sales effort around identifying and fulfilling clients’ current and future needsDemonstrate a commitment to and track record in achieving Timmons Group’s sales and marketing objectivesMeet assigned activity and revenue targets on a monthly basisClient Development

Work with a team (Director of Marketing, Sector Leaders, Project Managers, etc.) to deliver optimal solutions to clientsProvide marketing support for project close out/follow-up/documentationSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Geography/GIS, Marketing or Communications or related degree and/or minimum of 5 years work-related experience.Ability to build personal relationships with prospects and clients.Ability to effectively demonstrate and express the value proposition of Timmons Group’s products and services.Ability to manage multiple leads and respond in a timely manner to incoming prospects.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skillsAbility to support the marketing department with technical proposal writing, and collateral developmentAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and employees of the firm.Additional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
